Dear friends,
Last year on the No Longer Music and Nuteki tour, we were amazed to find how open and receptive the young people of Russia are to us and more importantly, the Gospel message. Many people, including Mary, gave their lives to Jesus as a result of the tour!
After our concert in Velikie Luki last year, Steiger missionary Misha Novarashvili and his Nuteki team started #6pmbible - an informal bible study designed to help those who responded at the concert grow in their relationship with Jesus.
Last month, after spending 11 hours at the Russian border, we returned to Velikie Luki, the same city and same spot that our tour began in Russia last year.
We set up in a large parking lot next to a shopping center. Even before the setup began, there were people hanging out, waiting for the show. A large screen looped an advertisement for our concert, and more people gathered as we set up the stage.
In the end, there were around 1,000 people at the concert. After the concert, I explained that God loves Russia and that Jesus died to set us free from sin. Over 200 people responded to the invitation and Misha (lead singer of Nuteki) shared what it means to follow Jesus. It was an incredible night!
The next day, I had the privilege of baptizing 3 girls, including Mary, who gave their lives to Jesus at the concert the year before and had gone through the #6pm course.
Now we have started another “season” of #6pmbible in Velikie Luki. It so encouraging to see the long term fruit that God is producing in the lives of these young people!
